SOUTH AFRICA'S FIRST GREEN DATA PARK World Leading Efficiency Confirmed
8 Mar 2012
Gautrain travellers have seen the first phase of the Green Data Park near Samrand Avenue taking shape since construction started on site in September 2011. Fully developed, the park will support 6 000m² of data space. The first phase is now complete and comprises 200m² of data space.
CLIMATE CHANGE: A Simple Perspective
17 Nov 2011
Power in South Africa is predominantly generated in large coal burning power stations. Each kilowatt-hour of electricity wastes 1.35 litres of water; produces 165g of ash and puts enough CO2 into the atmosphere to fill a 1kg CO2 fire extinguisher. This makes South Africa one of the major contributors to emissions worldwide with emissions exceeding all European countries except Germany.
SOUTH AFRICA’S First Green Data Park
16 Aug 2011
For those who take the Gautrain to work; next time you are on the train to Pretoria have a look out the east as you pass Samrand Road. What you will witness is South Africa's first green data park with the first phase in operation by the end of the year. Fully developed, the park will support 6000m² of data space which can be hosted, or user-owned, to suit client requirements.
