Who We Are
Carbon Calculated was born out of a necessity for an independent company to provide environmentally focused and cost efficient services in carbon measurement and strategy within the corporate sector. It has established itself as a leading customer-focused carbon management company, with numerous clients listed on the Johannesburg Stock Exchange. Clients include: Sanlam, Error! Reference source not found., Investec, BidVest, Medi-Clinic, Remgro, Rainbow Chicken, Standard Bank, Liberty Holdings, Foschini, Nampak, Vodacom, Deloitte and Touche`, SMIT Amandla Marine, Hollard, Allan Gray and Pick ‘n Pay.
Five of Carbon Calculated clients were ranked in the top 10 disclosure list of the Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP) 2010. Carbon Calculated is a CDP Consultancy Partner, a member of the Global Greenhouse Gas Network and the Green Building Council of South Africa (GBCSA). We are trained in the Greenhouse Gas Protocol through the Greenhouse Gas Management Institute.

Founding members, Nici Palmer and Alex Hetherington are involved in projects outside of Carbon Calculated and have agreed to set aside ten per cent of Carbon Calculated's pre-tax income to support these projects.
Nici works with a ministry called "Siyakhana" meaning, "We build each other". In addition to uplifting buildings in the community, Siyakhana partners annually with Habitat for Humanity South Africa (HFHSA) to build a house, providing simple, decent and affordable housing to communities in need.
Alex is passionate about children and has dedicated Save the Children Fund Gauteng as a beneficiary of Carbon Calculated's CSR initiatives.
