Van Dyck Carpets

Van Dyck goes GREEN

Van Dyck Carpets' mission statement has not deviated from the original; we still aim to further product differentiation and innovation and to increase focus on quality products manufactured in an environmentally friendly way. This is where the GREEN new logo comes into play. The old logo represented Van Dyck Carpets well, with its strong shade of blue and diamond shape, truly capturing the valuable element of the product and its feature in all our homes. It represented a tradition of sort; a solid bond it has created with the clients of Van Dyck Carpets for 63 years. A brand that has been tried tested and trusted by so many. But with new business owners taking over only a few years back, it was only fit that the company followed suit and underwent a major face lift.

We have changed our logo to green, not just to uphold our commitment to the environment but also to attract the younger generation. The green is a trendy, bright colour which represents the energy and fresh spirit of the youth and thus the new wave of modernization that has hit Van Dyck. We have also caught on to the wave of Social Media and shall be utilising this medium to its full capability. With this revamp also comes product innovation. We have dropped the word ‘carpet' because we have gone beyond just manufacturing quality carpets. We launched a brand of underlay referred to as Eco-lay along with Eco-back tiles which are both manufactured from the finest quality of recycled rubber granules that are bonded using synthetic rubber binders. And then there was the synthetic turf which is made from recycled bottles. With Van Dyck carpets always having been environmentally friendly, we have gone all out to minimise waste, reduce electricity, the use of water and effluent. We have also reduced the use of hazardous materials and latest products tow on the re-use of post-industrial waste including production rejects and post consumer waste in the form of uplifted carpets.

The GREEN is also a representation of Van Dyck's commitment to the community. We make a contribution to a number of Non-Profit Organisations. To name but three, we contribute to the South African Rugby Legends Association; a social awareness charity that uses sports to bring children from underprivileged communities together. We also contribute to a Breast Cancer Association group called Reach for Recovery, and Bobbi Bear; a haven where abused children have found solace.

This is an exciting time for us. It is the beginning of a new era with a lot in stock for our clients both old and new.
