Focus on energy efficiency Standard Electrical has a proud 64 year history in electrical engineering and contracting and has built up
a solid reputation over the years. In a further exciting development for the company, a new division of Standard Electrical has been established to find ways of assisting Eskom with solutions to the country's severely constrained electricity supply. The division, called Standard Energy, has assisted high profile property companies in successfully implementing energy efficiency strategies.

Having been appointed an Eskom Esco (energy services company), Standard Energy now has the ability to apply to Eskom for funding on behalf of it clients for their energy efficiency projects. Standard Energy has assisted one of South Africa's leading privately owned property funds in saving 40% of its monthly electrical bill in a building in the Johannesburg CBD. Energy efficiency solutions have been implemented in a number of buildings for high profile property companies in their commercial, retail and industrial properties.

Standard Energy has completed an energy efficiency project at the Eskom Simmerpan site for Eskom. This project has involved the retrofitting of 37 buildings in an eight week period even though the contract period was 12 weeks.

Added to its commitment to Energy Saving, Standard Electrical has also installed grid linked photovoltaic panels on the roof of their corporate house to directly feed their building with electricity. This innovation proves that Standard Electrical is continuously striving to ensure that Energy Efficiency is a priority in their business as well as ensuring that it is a leader in cutting edge technologies and innovations.

Standard Electrical's long and reliable track record has earned it established relationships with many large property developers, consultants and other players in the property and construction industry. As a result, the company has been involved in a number of exciting and high profile projects.
