Our vision is to provide the FP&M sector with a quality post-schooling education and training system that will produce a highly skilled and motivated workforce, enhancing productivity and competitiveness of the sector leading to sector growth and sustainable employment opportunities for all.

The FP&M SETA is committed to

• Promote the objectives of NSDS III in partnership with the Department of Higher Education and Training and other skills development agencies.

• Identify and implement strategies to address the scarce and critical skills needs of the FP&M sector aligned to national government strategies.

• Implement an integrated skills development qualifications framework to promote skills aquisition, career planning and access to the world of work.

• Establish a network of credible accredited public and private training providers to ensure quality training provision to the sector.

• Promote the enrolment of employed and unemployed learners on occupationally directed learning programmes such as learnerships, apprenticeships and internships.

• Link workplaces with further and higher education institutions to provide work experience placement opportunities for graduates and interns.

• Disseminate information on career opportunities in the FP&M sector to school leavers and unemployed youth.
