Pirate attacks are not uncommon! These events help participants understand what makes the team tick, the nature and extent of their problem solving and decision making skills, and where and why gaps exist that can lead to frustration and underperformance.

The experience on The Bridge is recorded, so the team sees itself in action.

We introduce a management process that integrates team member contribution preferences with a team effectiveness model.

The Bridge is the result of a creative collaboration between The Achievement Network Africa and The South African Maritime Training Academy (SAMTRA).

Courses we offer:

Day One covers the following subjects:

1. Bridge orientation
2. Preparation for first voyage
3. Setting sail for Dover
4. Video debriefing and evaluation of team dynamics and seamanship
5. Preparation for second voyage
6. Setting sail for Singapore
7. Video debriefing and evaluation of team dynamics and seamanship
8. Analysis of the link between bridge performance and team profile

Day Two covers the following activities:

1. Review of ‘The Bridge' learning points and their applicability to the workplace
2. Team Purpose and Team Agreement
3. Introduction to the Achievement Model and Process
4. Linking individual contribution preferences to the Achievement Model
5. In-depth analysis of the team profile
6. Identification of the gaps to be managed
7. Development advice on how best to manage these gaps
8. Application of the Achievement Process to at least one work-related issue
