APSO African Professional Staffing Organisations

Who We Are

Due to low or no barriers to entry in the private employment services sector you may be at risk of dealing with a non-compliant or unprofessional operator. Are you willing to risk your employer brand or worse, financial loss, associated with relying on a non-complaint staffing partner?

The Federation of African Professional Staffing Organisations (APSO), previously known as the Association of Personnel Service Organisations, was established in 1977 and continues to work towards the professionalisation and safeguarding of the private employment sector.

APSO is recognised by the majority of corporate clients in South Africa as the premier professional body for the labour recruitment sector. Today, many companies make APSO membership a pre-requisite for tendering or preferred supplier status.

As a member of CIETT, the International Confederation of Private Employment Agencies, APSO is well placed to drive global best practice within the local labour market.

All APSO member agencies are required to undergo a stringent compliance test before being granted membership. In addition, members are held accountable to the APSO Code of Ethical & Professional Practice. Customers, both clients and candidates, have access to recourse via the APSO ethics and compliance mechanisms, in the event of a dispute or poor service delivery from a member agency.
