About Ilasik

The iLasik procedure is the result of a decade's worth of technical refinement, combing the latest laser-assisted in-situ keratomileusis (Lasik) technology in one efficient Lasik procedure. The procedure combines the IntraLase laser with a blade-free approach to creating a corneal flap and Wavescan, thus performing a more precise medical procedure. The iLasik procedure reshapes the cornea so that refracted light focuses accurately on the retina. The technology used in the iLasik procedure is very mature - to date, approximately 32 million Lasik procedures have been performed.
All branches of the US military and National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) recently approved Lasik for astronauts, fighter pilots and all of their service people, owing to studies using iLasik technology. Studies have also shown that iLasik surgery results in improved night vision, better than contact lenses or glasses can offer, without any night glare, which was a common side effect of previous Lasik technologies.
