Rio Azul luxury 4 star lodge is the ultimate place to unwind. Deserted beaches, unspoilt estuary and the famous Bazaruto Archipeligo on your doorstep, not to mention the boutique luxury and famous local and international cusine.

The lodge has six two bed chalets and two villas, each with three en-suite bedrooms and a mezzanine area for up to 6 children as well as your own private pool and lounge area.

Situated on the northern rim of the Bazaruto Archipeligo at the mouth of the pristine Govuro River the lodge gets its name from the
clear blue of the estuary.

Rio Azul meaning ‘Blue River'. This estuarine mangrove system is one of the main breeding grounds for the marine life in the Archipeligo and can be explored by kayak or motor-boat for days on end enjoying the mangrove systems, bird
life, snorkelling and fishing. Or simply collecting pansy shells on the deserted sandbanks at low tide.

You can see the rare Mangrove Kingfisher and the Madagascar Olive Bee-eater as well as flocks of flamingos, pelicans and an amazing variety of water-birds and raptors. The sea life abounds with regular sightings of dolphins, turtles, schools of baitfish and whales in season.
