B-BBEE is a strategic imperative for IMPERIAL Logistics as future success and sustainability is in part dependent thereon. In December 2009 NERA, the BBBEE certification agency, verified IMPERIAL Logistics as a status four (4) contributor with a 125% Procurement Recognition Level according to the BBBEE codes. In 2007 IMPERIAL Logistics was a status five (5) contributor with a 100% Procurement Recognition Level, which the company improved on in 2008 with a rating of status four (4) contributor with a 125% Procurement Recognition Level. With the 2009 rating IMPERIAL Logistics improved further with a higher overall score than what was achieved in 2008 under a status four (4) contributor category. Further improvements were made during the completion of the 2010 verification process. The progression signifies IMPERIAL Logistics' commitment towards B-BBEE. IMPERIAL Logistics officially qualifies as a Value Added Supplier.

Johannesburg, 22nd February 2012 - JSE listed IMPERIAL announced revenue of R38,4 billion and operating profit of R2,6 billion for the six months ending 31 December 2011. This represents 22% revenue growth and 23% profit growth when compared to the corresponding period in 2010. As part of this, the Logistics Divisions reported total revenue of R12,4 billion and operating profit of R715 million. CEO of IMPERIAL, Hubert Brody, commented that "logistics represents almost a third of our business and remains the key area of focus and growth".
