Who We Are
The JSE Ltd ("JSE") is licensed as an exchange under the Securities Services Act, 2004 and is Africa's premier exchange. The exchange connects buyers and sellers in different markets: equities, equity derivatives, currency derivatives, commodity derivatives and interest rate products.
The JSE is a market of choice for local and international investors looking to gain exposure to the leading capital markets in South Africa and the broader African continent. The JSE also provides companies with the opportunity to raise capital in a highly regulated environment through its boards: Main Board, Africa Board and AltX.
In addition the JSE is a major provider of financial information. The JSE is a fully electronic, efficient, secure market with world class regulation, trading and clearing systems, settlement assurance and risk management.

JSE was ranked the best regulated securities exchange according to the World Economic Forum Global Competitiveness Report 2010 - 2011, the Johannesburg Stock Exchange (JSE) is a world class securities exchange based in South Africa.
The JSE has received two Futures & Options (FOW) awards: top honours in the "New Contract of the Year" category for Can-Do Option Contracts which was internally developed and "Best innovation by an exchange in the field of product design" in partnership with the CME group for the Chicago Corn contract.
