Thebe Venue Management gives the utmost encouragement to corporate social investment (CSI) within communities. This not only involves financial contributions, but also encompasses work within these communities by our employees. As a community driven company, it is important to create a culture that fosters community involvement. As a group we have the means and attitude to make a real difference.

TEPG strongly believes in giving back to the community and is especially interested in assisting child and animal welfares. Our biggest involvement has been with Oliver's House, an underprivileged child day-care centre. Apart from monetary donations we have organised play days there where members of the company take the children to a park where they can play on the slides and swings. We have also been involved in Scatterlings, a children's education programme as well as made donations to Starfish which supports abandoned and orphaned children affected by HIV/AIDS. Through the Decorex portfolio we donated bricks, paints, cupboards, counters and lamps to the Wanyana Project which built a community centre in Orange Farm to act as a safe haven as well as knowledge and training centre for children and adults.

Business with a conscience has become mainstream and adopting a green attitude is now a way of life. Thebe lives by example and uses its exhibitions, events and venues as role models. For our flagship exhibition Decorex, we are constantly putting the spotlight on and encouraging green design, green buildings, services and products as well as featuring how-to talks. We recently collaborated with Century Property Developments on their new Waterfall Green Design Centre. The Coca-Cola dome has become a member of The Heritage Environmental Management Company which was formed to provide operators of all types of businesses with an effective environmental management and rating alternative designed to reduce and limit the impact that their operations have on their environment.
